WHY I STARTED BRAINCLUB

I never set out to become a cognitive trainer.

I’m a psychologist, and my plan had been to become a clinical psychologist. Cognitive training was never part of it. However, I am also the mother of two bright boys. Each showed real challenges growing up. From then on my mission was simple: find the best way to help them reach their full potential. That is where this actually started.

But working with my own sons taught me something I have since seen in nearly every client: the barrier is rarely effort. It is usually a specific set of cognitive skills that nobody has thought to measure. Until you identify which ones are weak and train them directly, working harder mostly produces more frustration.

That search led me to the BrainRx method, a science-backed blueprint for doing exactly that: pinpointing the skills holding someone back, then strengthening them one by one. Since then, I was able to help my sons and a dozen of other families and adults here in Vienna. If you or your child are struggling, get in touch. I would be happy to offer a free consultation, and we can find out together if the program fits your needs.

THE METHOD
BrainRx- a cognitive training built on decades of research

Developed in the USA by Dr. Ken Gibson in 1985 and grounded in the Cattell–Horn–Carroll theory of intelligence, the most widely accepted model of how thinking actually works.

Cognitve Assesment

The Gibson Test maps seven core cognitive skills and shows precisely where the bottleneck is, usually not where people expect.

Intensive Training

One-to-one sessions, several times a week, with exercises calibrated to sit just above the current skill level. A real mental workout.

Re-asses

Progress is measured, not assumed. You see the change in the same numbers we started with.

WHAT IS TRAINED

The seven core cognitive areas

Weakness in even one of these makes learning feel and every day performing disproportionately hard. Each is trainable.

Attention

Holding focus on one task, and  resisting distraction.

Processing speed

How quickly the brain takes in and makes sense of new information.

Long term memory

Storing information reliably and retrieving it later.

Logic and reasoning

Working out what to do when the answer isn’t given, analyzing, infering, and solving new problems.

Auditory information processing

Analyzing, blending and segmenting sounds.

Visual information processing

Taking in images, diagrams and spatial relationships, and forming mental pictures from what you need.

Working memory

Holding information in mind while following multi-step instructions, mental arithmetic.

WHAT MAKES IT WORK?

The seven principles behind programs

Individual plans

We assess first, then target the exact skills that learner needs.

One-to-one coaching

One trainer, one learner. Direct feedback during each session.

Right intensity

Real mental workout, designed to be challenging, yet never overhelming.

Repetition and practice

Several sessions a week, sustained over months. That’s how the skills stick.

Step by step

Core skills first, then complexity layered on top.

Multitasking

Combining skills to help the brain to build connections.

Positive reinforcement

Immediate encouragement keeps learners energised and confident.

THE EVIDENCE

Results that are measured, published and peer-reviewed

Since 2014 the Gibson Institute of Cognitive Research has published outcome data in peer-reviewed journals across education, psychology and neuroscience.
